P5/6 loved getting stuck into our new Numeracy topic of ‘Fractions’ in a very practical way. We explored the terms ‘numerator’ and ‘denominator’, as well as ‘equivalence’, by using LEGO bricks to visually represent each fraction. A great way to play and explore together, there was a lot of excellent mathematical chat and questioning in our lesson.
