Primary 3/4 - Mrs ADAIR
Welcome to Mrs Adair’s Primary 3/4 Class!
“We didn’t realise we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.” – A. A. Milne
Thank you for visiting our class page! Here you will find a snapshot of the learning that takes place in Classroom 7. We hope you will return to see our progress throughout the year.
An Egg-cellent start to Easter!
In the week before our Easter holidays P3/4 have been learning about the Easter story. We have also enjoyed lots of craft activities and even some Easter baking! It has been lovely to have our P4s back in the classroom to enjoy these activities too!
Cherry Blossom Art
Another sign of spring is the pink cherry blossom that falls from the trees. We decided to paint our own cherry blossom trees. We used the outline of our hand and arm to create the shape of the branches and trunk. We thought about how the wind carries the blossom through the air. Then we mixed different shades of pink and used cotton buds to add the blossom.
Activity Based Learning
The season of spring is all about new life and growing. When we thought about growing, we were reminded of the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.
P3 enjoyed lots of practical activities based on this story. We used puppets to retell the story, thought of different adjectives to describe each character and setting, measured a giant using a variety of non-standard units and even tried to construct the tallest free-standing beanstalk using junk materials.
Our activity based learning also involved Easter crafts and practical sorting using a Carroll diagram on the floor. We have been having so much fun back in the classroom!
A Host of Golden Daffodils
P3 have been thinking about the signs of spring in the world around us. The bright yellow daffodils outside our school provided inspiration for us to paint and make our own!
We looked closely at the shape of each part of the daffodil using real flowers and photographs. This was a lovely way to start back to school after lockdown!

Autumn Leaf Art
Primary 3/4 went for a walk around the school grounds to look for signs of autumn. We found lots of leaves of different colours, shapes and sizes. We used the leaves we collected to explore shape and autumn colours through our artwork. Take a look at our artwork on display!
